 The 2024 San Francisco International Piano Competition welcomes the participation of all pianists in different ages from all over the world! 

Location: San Francisco Conservatory of Music

The 2024 SFIPC is thrilled to announce that we will have an Online + In-Person competition this year from June to August. 

Applicants could choose either to participate the competition in-person in SF, or to participate online, which is required to submit unedited recordings of their repertoires. Applications must be submitted by May 15, 2024.  ​

The total prize for the 2024 competition will exceed $20,000 USD including cash prizes, concert opportunities, and full scholarships of the 2025 Bay PianoFest.

The goal of the competition is for pianists from different cultures and ages to perform and communicate. And to explore and promote excellent and potential musicians to further opportunities and development.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The 2024 San Francisco International Music Competition and Festival is thrilled to announce that it will take place from August 4-August 13, at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, CA, USA. 

All stages of the Competition will be open to the public. 

The competition is open to pianists of all nationalities and ages by the application deadline, May 15, 2024.

Eligibility

Current or previous students of judges MAY enter the competition. However, the judges will not be a part of voting the final decision of his/her students if the student has studied with a specific jury member in the past 2 years. 

International competitors may need visas in certain cases. Therefore, applicants are advised to seek guidance from the nearest United States Embassy or Consulate.

While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information provided in this document, the SFIPC reserves the right to make changes if circumstances necessitate.

Important Date

  • March 15, 2024 - Applications Opens

  • May 1, 2024 - Applications Submission Deadline (Early Bird)

  • June 1 & 2, 2024 - First round in San Francisco, CA, USA 

  • June 10, 2024 - Finalists announced (Online) 

  • July 15, 2024 - Last day to make changes to repertoire 

  • August 4, 2024 - Festival Opening Ceremony 

  • August 12, 2024 - Final Round Competition

  • August 13, 2024 - Awards Ceremony
